Dates in Blanchester History![]() Summary of the Blanchester area from 1782 to the present: 1814 - The first white settlers came to Marion Township March 23, 1832 - The platting of Blanchester March 1852 - The Hillsborough and Cincinnati Railroad opened 1883 - The first graduate at Blanchester High School Oct. 18, 1895 - Most of the downtown buildings burned 1896 and 1897 - Many of the downtown buildings were rebuilt in for a rebirth of the community June 11, 1906 - The first traction car arrived in Blanchester January 1925 - The high school moved into its new building 1932 - The anniversary of the platting of Blanchester 1959 - Edenton and Jefferson schools became part of the Blancheser Local School district 1977 and 1978 - Extreme winter weather 1982 - The Sesquicentennial was celebrated 2002 - The new Blanchester school buildings were dedicated June 11 was the one-year anniversary of the dedication of the C M & L (Kroger) Traction Line mural at 203 S.
